picks up for ole miss this week. did somebody say night game at death valley. the rebels and lsu set for an 8:15 kickoff from baton rouge. injury news. linebacker josh clarke is out with an ankle sprain. cornerback ken webster is questionable with a hamstring injury. a.j brown and benito jones are probable with lower body injuries. quarterback jordan ta'amu reportedly sprained his right shoulder against kent state. matt luke said ta'amutook sunday off, andis expected to fully participate in tuesday's practice. here's some of what luke had to say about lsu. matt luke: "watched them a lot last night and early this morning, trying to get a feel for them. they're very good defensively. they're good on all three levels of the defense. good up front, really good linebackers, very long and very good in the secondary. they're a very good defense." september 29th. that's the date every mississippi fan has committed to memory. september 29th is the day dan mullen returns to davis wade stadium with the florida gators. the bulldogs and gators kick off at 5. some injury news. defensive end marquis spencer had surgery and is out for the year. cornerback jamal peters is out again this week. the bulldogs must turn the page on a disappointing loss at kentucky. on saturday night, msu had almost as many penalty yards as total yards of offense. the defense kept the bulldogs in the contest, but kentucky running back benny snell eventually wore down the msu d. earlier today at his weekly press conference, an impassioned joe moorhead said the bulldogs will quickly right the ship. joe moorhead: 'one loss won't define this season. one loss won't define this team. i promise you this, we are working tirelessly, and we're gonna get this frigging thing right so hopefully everyone understands that the standard is the standard. we're not gonna change anything in our approach. one game is not gonna define this d n team, and we're gonna get this thing back right.' for nine seasons, dan mullen patrolled the mississippi state sidelines. on saturday, mullen returns to davis wade stadium an enemy combatant. mullen's gators are also 3-1 following a blowout win at tennessee. earlier today at his weekly press confrence, mullen was asked if he thinks he'll be booed saturday night. reporter: 'is there a chance you get booed going back?' dan mullen: 'what do you think?' reporter: 'i don't know. i say no.' mullen: 'i think this. i think there will be a lot of passion saturday night with people there. i think for the most part they appreciate what we were able to accomplish the nine years that we were there. i don't know that it'll be shown on saturday night.' the polls are now open. head over to wtva.com to vote for our friday night fever game of the week. your three choices for week 7 are choctaw county at houston. the maroon bowl, eupora at east webster. and okolona at smithville. the voting closes at 4 pm wednesday. jim holder will announce the winner wednesday at 6. that's sports, we're back after this.
