new albany school officials are preparing for avote this week, to bring upgrades to the school district. gracyn ashmore spoke with the superintendent and joins us live in studio with more. 8.5 million dollars is how much the new albany school district is trying to approve with a bond that is going to be voted on tuesday. this money will go towards making repairs and upgrades to the schools in the district... if approved on september 25th, the district will begin working with architects to access the most important areas to address first... roof replacements, energy efficiency, and safety are demands... security includes better school surveillance along with a uniform system throughout the entire district... this bond is strictly for improvements to the existing facilities... and construction will begin the summer of 2019... for our bond "we have to make sure that our people can get out and vote. because sometimes they think aw it's going topass,and they don't go vote. you know.so,i would encourage everyone to go out and vote. it's very, very important that they go out and vote for our bond." voting is on tuesday from 7 in the morning to 7 that evening at the union county courthouse. absentee voting can be done on monday at city hall as well. rebecca, back
