happy wednesday! a strong ridge of high pressure continues to sit over the mid-south, locking us in a pattern of unusually hot and humid conditions through the mid to late september time frame. temperatures will begin this wednesday morning in the upper 60s to lower 70s. through the day, we'll see abundant sunshine with no rainfall. temperatures climb into the mid-90s with heat index values into the upper 90s to lower 100s. today's highs will come just a couple degrees shy of a record of 98 set back in 1954. this pattern will continue into thursday with sunshine and no rain. temperatures will reach the mid-90s again with heat index values into the upper 90s to lower 100s. but by friday, a few isolated showers and storms may return to the forecast. highs will be in the lower 90s with heat index values in the mid and upper 90s. a few storms may linger into the first half of some of friday night's high school football games. a few more spotty showers and storms will build as we head into the weekend. with this will also come a few extra cloud, perhaps enough to keep temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. either way, it's
