near record high temperatures ahead our strong ridge of high pressure continues to build east word and as it does it will ensure we stay dry through at least thursday with temperatures around 10 above what we would expect for this time of year. eventually though, as that high-pressure system shifts near the atlantic coast, it will start directing gulf moisture back here andthat will start yielding some rain chances.the question is revolving around our rain chances for the weekend comes down to whether or not the tropical moisture from the pacific will make it into our area. there are some indications that we can funnelin some moisture that is presently south of the baja california and get it totrack along the north side of this strong ridge, but it's exact timing and quantity remains a huge question. at this point, we're keeping the rain coverage is limited for saturday and sunday in particular because of those questions but those percentages might have to be increased substantially if that moisture is truly directed toward us. ultimately, though, fridays chances remains spotty, with that tropical moisture becoming more of a player saturday/sunday, depending on the positioning of a cold front that sloshin as well. as always, our latest video forecast and breakdown is available in the wtva weather authority app: http: http: welcome back thanks
