and i'm tanya carter. the lottery may soon debut here in the magnolia state... the news is expected to come out of a legislative special session thisweek.. wtva's shante sumpterhas more with whatresidents think of getting a chance to win even if the lottery getsapprovedwe don't know how quickly residents will be able to come by gasstations andgrab a ticket. however, when that time comesmost people i spoke to are more thanwillingto take a chance. best thing that could happen to the state. more revenue. it's a winwinsituation. many were excited about the chance to win if the lottery is finally approved in mississippi rashod martinsayswillnot only help thestate butboost the local economy as well. it could really help someone out, help families out to win thelottery.givethem a chance. and keep the money in mississippi versus tennesee a lot of people go out of town to buy tickets. it'll be nice for the ones that play. if approved the money from the state lottery will help with roads and infrastructure we need it. we need a lot. but some like richard netherland did have one concern plusa lot of people get addicted to it. spend their whole paycheck and the kids go hungry. that's the thing i hate about it. but it would be a good thing. it'll help people who need money. the lottery has not official been approved. againit is expected to happen at a legislative session on thursday. we'll update you then on what decision comes out of it. in wp ss wtva 9 news one local humane
