the cold front that brought scattered showers and storms to the area late monday night has now come and gone. as we head into the afternoon, temperatures continue to climb into the mid-80s. skies which have feature good supply of sunshine during the morning hours are now seeing an increase of cloud pushing southward across the tennessee border. with the aide of incoming clouds and winds that are expected to veer and become more westerly and northwesterly by the early and mid-evening hours this will help keep us from getting too hot, but mainly this will make the air more crisp and less humid. we'll see even cooler temperatures wednesday with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. highs will warm into the lower and mid- 80s. and again, there will be no rainfall. in fact, the rain-free pattern continues all the way through thursday and friday as lower dew points are brought into the region, complements of a northwest wind. with sunshine we'll see highs climb into the mid-80s on thursday. then on friday, we'll heat up a bit more. but we won't heat up until after hitting a morning low in the lower 60s. highs friday afternoon reach into the upper 80s. by the weekend, it's a much different story as humidity makes a quick return to the region. and so does the heat. we'll see mostly sunny skies with isolated showers and storms both
