for a furniture plant fire... wtva's evan hensley is live outside that plant where everyone is thankful that fire was not much worse... we have seen some plant fires locally where the flames sent thick black smoke high into the air.that was not the case with this fire at united furniture in okolona. firefighters got word of the sprinklers going off in one of the buildings around 5 o'clock.deputy fire chief jerry west says it appears one of the golf carts used to haul furniture here caught fire.the sprinklers helped, but so did the quick response by firefighters. " i made entry, followed the smoke to the fire. i kept it knocked down before we got in, we had two fire extinguishers till we got a hose in there. and then my firefighters came in and knocked it out the rest of the way with the water." no injuries were reported.plant officials describe the damage as small. they say the plant was supposed to be closed until the week after next anyway.so there is no immediate effect on employees.those officials tell us if there is a delay in those employees coming back to work, they will let us know.for now, we are live in okolona. i'm evan hensley, wtva 9 news. we are learning more after a person was
