preseason. the dallas cowboys opened thepreseason last thursday with a 24-21 loss at san francisco. dak and the boys back home tonight taking on the cincinnati bengals. second drive for the cowboys.... prescott avoids the blitz, and dumps one off to rod smith... smith takes it inside the red- zone. dan bailey's 35 yard field goal gives dallas a 3-0 lead. next cowboys possession... dak buys time withthe tony romo-esquespin move. prescott finds terrence williams for 6. how bout them cowboys!!!! dak finishes 10 of 15 for 86 yards and the touchdown.. but the bengals win this one 21-13. dallas hosts arizona next sunday night on nbc wtva... dak's alma mater, mississippi state, opens up at home on september 1st against stephen f austin. the bulldogs scrimmaged this evening. msu has new coaches all over the field. offensive coordinator luke getsy came to starkville from the green bay packers. getsy served as green bay's wide receivers coach in 2016 and 17. getsy says he learned a lot from packers' quarterback aaron rodgers getsy hopes to instill some of rodgers' traits at msu.....such as... luke getsy: 'the way he practices. the way he leads and all that stuff, we've brought here and i've brought here. coach briner and i have worked really well together in implementing all the successes that joe has had plus some of this other stuff that i believe and that will help us be better too.' ole miss opens 2018 against texas tech in houston. the rebels opened as slight favorites against the red raiders, but are now slight underdogs. both teams hope to light up the scoreboard at n-r-g stadium. ole miss offensive coordinator phil longo is pleased with his squad's progress thus far. phil longo: 'i think the staff right now is optimistically happy with our progress. we like where we are. we're seeing that second year veteran experience play its part in practice. right now, it's gonna be more about getting done what we gotta get done now until gameday.' alabama opens its season against louisvile september 1st in orlando. the crimson tide held their second and final fall scrimmage this afternoon at bryant denny stadium. the injuries continue to mount for alabama. offensive lineman matt wommack will be out 4 to 6 weeks with a foot injury. linebacker christopher allen is likely out for the season with a knee injury. alabama's depth allows them to overcome injuries better than most teams. after today's scrimmage nick saban colorfully explained that good players don't just grow on trees. nick saban: 'you just think we just, whatever happens we just s ! another player, and everything's gonna be perfect. all of our fans think that, you think that, that's what you write about, that's the message that you send out there and yea i worry about it all the time. i may be the only one, but i do worry about it.' kurt bush wins under the lights in bristol
