pontotoc county family can sleep easy tonight knowing their two young children are back home safe after being reported missing earlier this afternoon. wtva's madison heil joins us with where they were found. emily, thanks to law enforcement and a lot of volunteers the kids were found not too far from their home. and their family is thankful. "i'm real happy. i appreciate everybody that helped find them and i'm happy their home."words from kay price, grandmother to the two young children who law enforcement say wandered from their home wednesday around 3:20pm."the were out playing and propbably followed the dog off in the woods."sheriff leo mask says in 20 minutes the young girl was found first in a field about 350 yards from the home.the boy was then found more than hour after the original call following his dog out of the woods.both were taken to the hospital to be evaluated."scratched up real bad because they had on shorts and were barefoot."sheriff mask said they had help from the city k-9, firefighters as well as the union county search and rescue team."very proud that it turned out this way." again a very happy ending to this story.
