monday!! we begin our monday with more warm, humid air and perhaps a couple of isolated showers and storms. temperatures begin in the mid-70s, climbing into the lower and mid-90s by mid- afternoon. we'll see a few additional showers and storms into the afternoon, some of which could be on the stronger side. otherwise, it'll just stay hot and humid with abundant sunshine. heat advisories are in effect across much of the area until 7 p.m. monday. heat index values reach well into the 100s. we'll remain warm and humid into tuesday morning with additional storms likely later in the day. we'll go from the mid-70s early in the morning to the mid-90s in the afternoon. additional showers and storms are likely as a weak cold front makes its way into the area. this could spark a few stronger thunderstorms, producing strong wind, torrential rain and frequent lightning. later in the night, slightly cooler, less humid air makes its way into the area--especially into our northern counties. wednesday appears to be somewhat more tolerable when it comes to the heat, thanks to the reduced humidity. it won't be a huge drop, but perhaps a bit noticeable as temperatures will start out in the lower 70s with some in the upper 60s. through the day, we'll still see abundant sunshine with highs in the lower 90s. but with lower humidity, heat index values should be more into the mid-90s rather than 100s. only a very slim chance of an isolated shower will
