investigators are working on solving a church firethathappened in winston county wednesday morning. wayne hereford is following the story and joins us with more. ." stand up. members and investigators say this is the window someone climb through to start the fire. robert miller is a member at the new zion baptist church located on high point where road in winston county. "this is the pastor's study righthere.thisis where the fire started. but they went in through a classroom right behindyou.andpushed that window completely out. and went in and started the fire in the pastor's study." it's a wonder the fire was not any worse than it turned out to be he said. good likely would have been had not walter ashford' the church janitor showed up on a whim wednesday. he says he normally cleans up to church on thursday. "when i when i open the door i heard the fire alarm going off and opened up pretty fast and the smoke was coming out . and so i went into the kitchen i thought maybe the stove was on or something but it wasn't. and then i rushed up the hall and then i lookin the pastor study and that's the what and that's where the fire started in the pastor's study." stand up the church still sits here in the same location in fact this is not the first time it has caught fire. it burn to the ground in the late 1980s. well we have just got to get together and see what we are going to do and go from here you know. the fire is under investigation by state local and federal officials in winston county waynehereford wtva nine news. a notorious fugitive on the run
