is now being enforced in west point to keep minors off the streets. this is in response to a surge in burglaries. wtva's evan hensley has more on what residents are saying residents of west point have not been afraid of sharing their opinions on this curfew. i talked to a few of them to see what they were thinking. residents are shocked by the amount of crimein west point. sot canieceia dantzer, west point, ms "i'm shocked because i hadn't really realized that there is a bunch of burglaries' going on." but some believe that a curfew for minors will not help fix the problems. sot keith eubanks, west point, ms "i don't know if it is going to do any good though. people gonna be out there gonna be out whether a curfew or not" police say that the 10 p-m curfew for minors has been in place but has not been enforced. one resident says the minors shouldn't be punished and that police need to find another solution. sot dantzer "it's not fair to just blame it on the juveniles or children cause their is adults that do pretty much the same crimes." one resident blames parents for the problems caused by juveniles. sot eubanks "they don't know where the children is and they gonna leave it to law enforcement to try and find out where they are at." and police say this curfew has been in place for a while, but needs to be enforced over the summer. reporting live in west point evan hensley wtva 9 news a pontotoc woman is arrested for trespassing
