had quite a career at calhoun city high school. a couple ofseasons ago, grayled the wildcats to a state championship in football. he's been a starting quarterback for several years, and had the opportunity to play at holmes. but gray is going with another sport he loves. gray signed this afternoon to play baseball at mississippi delta. as a pitcher, gray went five- and-oh on the mound this season as calhoun city went deep into the class 2a playoffs. at the plate, he hit three-fifty- two. gray says he wants to be a coach someday, and it doesn't matter which sport. he also told us what the mississippi delta coaches liked about his game. gray: "i think the main thing was just me hustling on and off the field, of course, they want me to pitch and be a position player, and i think it was just more of my hustle on and off the field and my attitude. i think baseball is just in my heart, i've been playing it since i was little, and i just want to keep playing." miller: "it speaks volumes for him, he's been a tremendous athlete, one of the better seniors we've ever had, and we hate to see him go."
