the potential of flooding... we alsohave a lot of breaking news coming in today...a homicide investigation in lafayette county... plus, the missing kids from aberdeen have been found.... but first... joel, what can we expect from this rain? good wednesday morning! we had a round of rainfall overnight. and more is on the way. we may catch a lull in the activity around midday, but additional showers and storms during the afternoon and evening adds to our totals. temperatures begin in the upper 50s to lower 60s. for this afternoon, we'll see highs in the lower 70s again with a few breaks in the rainfall. a few peeks of sunshine will also be possible, enhancing instability for showers and storms later in the night. a round of stronger, potentially severe storms, should roll into our western counties sometime wednesday evening. most of that should stay well to our west, weakening as it moves into our area. but the main threat will certainly be the flooding. another 2 to 4 inches will be possible for most areas with some close to 6 or 7 inches in isolated spots. this could lead to additional flooding in spots, so please be sure to give yourself extra time both wednesday and thursday mornings. we'll dry out nicely into friday with temperatures only reaching the upper 50s for highs. lows dip into the 30s for friday and saturday morning. saturday and sunday will bring more sunshine with highs climbing into the mid and upper 60s. on monday, additional showers move into the area with highs climbing into the lower 60s. for more details, visit our websites at and and of course you'll be concerned with what's going on in your neighborhood.. wtva's shante sumpter is live in lee county monitoring conditions out on the road right now. shante, what are you seeing? lafayette county officers are investigating a homicide.... plus, the three missing children from aberdeen have been found... let's go to wtva's emma packard, who joins us live from the breaking news center...
