continuing coverage on a story we first brought to you on wtva 9 news at four. a home in mantachie is a total loss after a firethis morning. but as wtva's daniella oropeza explains -- not everything was was destroyed. std." oropeza / mantachie, itawamba county) this home is off hwy 363...a heartbreaking scene to see someone's home and comfort zone destroyed.i spoke with the homeowner, who was home at the time but was able to get out safely, she tells there is one thing able to be saved that holds alot of memories. this large bin holding pictures from years past of beverly jordan's children and plenty of memories was found under her bed almost untouched.mantachie volunteer fire chief jim roberts says the fire started around 8:30 a-m and firefighters were on the scene until around 11:30 a-m.jordan along with her cat, sunshine, were the only one's living in the home...both got out unharmed. and for awhile, jordan and others were unable to grab sunshine.but if you were able to watchwtva's 6 o'clock newscast, sunshine came into my liveshot and afterwards we were able to grab him and give him to a neighbor.chief roberts says the fire started in the kitchen.he adds volunteer fire departments from houston and mooreville-eggville assisted in puting out the fire. i spoke with jordan's sister who tells methis morninga man came up to the home and brought her sister a biscuit...and that just meant so much to them.in mantachie. daniella oropeza. wtva nine news. at , matt's now here with a first look at our
