David Bauer is a producer for WTVA.
His roots run deep in north Mississippi.
A product of a Mississippi education, David went to high school in Macon and college at Mississippi State University.
After trying radio for a few years, he started volunteering for the MSU Television Center videotaping MSU baseball and doing voiceover work for the Ron Polk Show.
That led to a job as a sports videographer at a local television station starting in 1986, then a move to WTVA where he has been at home since 1990.
David has served as a videographer, reporter, assignment manager and producer, winning numerous awards by the Mississippi Associated Press.
One of his favorite projects each year is “A Celebration of Hope," a live two-hour telethon WTVA does for the North Mississippi Regional Rehabilitation Center.
In his off-hours, he and his Australian border collie, Maddie (short for Madison), like to travel or spend time on the family estate.
