JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Two flags remain in consideration to become Mississippi’s new state flag.
What's next?
The state flag commission will select the final flag to submit to the governor and Legislature at a Sept. 2 meeting.
Mississippi voters will either approve or vote against the chosen flag in November.
If the flag doesn’t receive approval, the commission will submit another flag and voters will repeat the process until voters approve the flag.
Last week, the state flag commission narrowed down its finalists to five.
To get a sense of what the flags look like in real-life, the five flags were flown Tuesday morning in Jackson.
