JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 4,991 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths during the weekend — July 30 to Aug. 1.
Nine deaths occurred between July 27-30 in Forrest, Franklin, Greene, Harrison, Lafayette, Pearl River, Stone, Walthall and Yalobusha counties.
The other four deaths occurred between July 11-25, identified from death certificate reports, in Hinds (2), Rankin and Washington counties.
Since the onset of the pandemic in Mississippi in March 2020, the MSDH has reported 348,496 total cases and 7,556 total deaths.
During the same time period, the MSDH also reported 317,559 recoveries.
