JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - During the weekend (Aug. 13-15) the Mississippi State Department of Health reported 7,839 more COVID cases and 52 more deaths.
Thirty COVID-19 related deaths occurred in Adams (2), Alcorn, Attala, Choctaw, Claiborne, Forrest (2), Franklin, George (2), Hinds, Itawamba, Jackson (2), Jones (2), Lauderdale (2), Lincoln, Oktibbeha, Pearl River (3), Rankin, Walthall and Wayne (4) counties.
The other 22 deaths happened between July 25 and Aug. 9, identified from death certificates, in Adams, Forrest, Grenada, Hinds (5), Jasper, Lafayette, Lauderdale, Lee, Madison (2), Pearl River (2), Perry, Pontotoc, Rankin, Scott, Simpson and Warren counties.
Since the onset of the pandemic in Mississippi in March 2020, the MSDH has reported 388,986 total cases and 7,813 total deaths.
During the same time period, the MSDH also reported 326,558 recoveries.
