JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - During a three-day period, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,326 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths.
That’s an average of 775 cases per day.
The three deaths occurred between July 13-15 in Copiah, DeSoto and Rankin counties.
Since March 2020, when Mississippi reported its first COVID-19 case, the MSDH has recorded 329,130 total cases and 7,468 total deaths.
The MSDH also reported 313,744 total recoveries.
State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs has been urging Mississippians to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dobbs says a majority of the new cases are the delta variant.
