MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A hearing in Montgomery revealed new information about the death of an infant last month and the father's arrest in the child's death.
An investigator testified Friday that Caleb Michael Whisnand Sr. led police to a shallow grave containing the child's body hours after pleading with the public for information about the child's whereabouts.
The man then claimed the death was an accident.
Whisnand is charged with capital murder in the child's death.
A grand jury will review the case next, and Whisnand will have a chance to enter a plea if indicted.
