INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) — A man wanted in the death of a 72-year-old western Missouri man has been arrested in Mississippi, authorities said Tuesday.

The Kansas City Star reports that Nathan Hendricks, 46, of Hermann, Missouri, had been sought since William Domann of Independence was found dead in a bloody home invasion on Oct. 30.

Federal officers in Gulfport, Mississippi, acting on information provided to Independence police, found Hendricks hiding behind a home Monday night, the newspaper reported.

The capture was a relief to relatives of Domann, his son, Tony Domann, told the Star in a text message.

"Anger and sadness don't go well together and maybe now we can truly begin to grieve and breathe a little easier," Tony Domann said.

William Domann was found by police in the bedroom of his home on the morning of Oct. 30. He had been restrained and shot multiple times in the head and arm.

Hendricks is one of three men charged with second-degree murder, burglary and armed criminal action in Domann's death. The other two are in custody.

A woman who said she was Hendricks' ex-girlfriend told investigators that Hendricks had been threatening Domann, who had been asked to hide a Corvette that Hendricks had stolen. Hendricks, according to court documents, wanted the car back.
