JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - More than 58,000 Mississippians requested absentee ballots for Tuesday’s general election.
According to the Secretary of State’s Office, Circuit clerks’ offices have received back 51,318 absentee ballots.
This past Saturday was the deadline for in-person absentee voting.
Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday.
Absentee ballots from voters in the military and overseas must be received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s general election will decide statewide and local races, including Mississippi’s next governor.
