BILOXI, Miss. (WTVA) - A third person has died nearly two weeks after part of a highway collapsed along the Gulf Coast.
The collapse happened on Highway 26 in George County.
Amanda Williams of Wiggins died Saturday, Sept. 11 after being hospitalized since the Aug. 30 collapse, WLOX-TV reported.
The collapse caused seven vehicles to crash into the washed-out roadway.
Two people died at the time of the crash and 10 other individuals were injured, including Williams and her teenage daughter.
The 16-year-old daughter is at home recovering from her injuries, WLOX reported.
It's believed the torrential rainfall from Hurricane Ida caused the collapse.
