MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Police say they are searching for a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Alabama.
WALA-TV reports that officers found the woman dead in a yard on Monday. Authorities say a dog that was involved was shot, but is expected to be Ok.
Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste did not release the woman's name but said she was a mother in her mid-40s. Battiste says he does not think she was the mother of anyone immediately involved in the incident.
Battiste says police have some positive leads to follow up on and that hopefully the person of interest is taken into custody.
