Mississippi reported Wednesday 2,791 new coronavirus cases, 38 new deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported Wednesday 2,791 new cases of the coronavirus and 38 new deaths attributed to the virus.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi State Department of Health reported Wednesday 2,791 new cases of the coronavirus and 38 new deaths attributed to the virus.

Two deaths each happened in Lee and Union counties with one each occurring in Alcorn, Chickasaw, Pontotoc, Tippah and Tishomingo counties.

With this latest report, the state had 228,235 cases and 5,013 deaths since the pandemic started.
