JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Gov. Tate Reeves issued a statewide mask mandate Tuesday afternoon. It'll remain in effect for two weeks.
He also announced the delay of 7th-12th grade schools in eight counties:
- Bolivar
- Coahoma
- Forrest
- George
- Hinds
- Panola
- Sunflower
- Washington
Statewide, students and staff are required to wear masks.
Do not gather in crowds, State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs begged Mississippians.
He said many positive cases surfaced from gatherings such as parties and weddings.
This is a developing story.
