JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 751 new COVID-19 cases and 10 new deaths Thursday, Sept. 3.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.
New COVID-19-related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Wednesday:
- Bolivar - 1
- Forrest - 1
- Harrison - 3
- Hinds - 1
- Lauderdale - 1
- Lee - 1
- Lincoln - 1
- Rankin - 1
As of Thursday, Sept. 3, there have been 85,116 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 2,536 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 67,918 recoveries. The MSDH usually updates its estimated recoveries total once a week.
