JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 674 new COVID-19 cases and 30 new deaths Wednesday.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

As of Wednesday, July 8, there have been 32,888 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 1,188 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 22,167 recoveries.
