JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The state health department reported 328 new cases of the coronavirus and 23 new deaths Thursday, May 28.
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.

New coronavirus-related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Wednesday:

- Jones - 3
- Kemper - 1
- Lauderdale - 1
- Lincoln - 2
- Lowndes - 1
- Madison - 1
- Monroe - 1
- Neshoba - 3
- Oktibbeha - 1
- Perry - 1
- Washington - 1
- Yazoo - 1
As of Thursday, May 28, MSDH estimates 9,401 people have recovered from the virus.
Since mid-March, when the state reported its first case of the virus, MSDH has reported 14,372 total cases and 693 total deaths.
