JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 3,023 new COVID-19 cases and 29 new deaths Wednesday, Dec. 30.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Tuesday. Twenty-seven deaths occurred between December 22 and December 29 in the counties below.

Two COVID-19 related deaths occurred on December 24, identified from death certificate reports.

As of Wednesday, Dec. 30, there have been 213,055 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 4,747 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 167,263 recoveries.
