JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 301 new COVID-19 cases and 44 new deaths Tuesday, March 2.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 3 p.m. Monday. Nineteen COVID-19 related deaths occurred between Feb. 12 and Feb. 28 in the counties below:

Twenty-five COVID-19 related deaths occurred between Jan. 4 and Feb. 24, identified from death certificate reports.

As of Tuesday, March 2, there have been 295,295 total cases of the virus since mid-March 2020, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 6,724 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 278,162 recoveries.
