JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,634 new COVID-19 cases and 43 new deaths Wednesday, Dec. 23.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Tuesday. Thirty-seven deaths occurred between October 30 and December 22 in the counties below.

As of Wednesday, Dec. 23, there have been 200,325 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 4,533 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 154,669 recoveries.
