JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,326 new COVID-19 cases and 24 new deaths Thursday, Dec. 24.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Wednesday. Twenty-two deaths occurred between December 17 and December 23 in the counties below.

As of Thursday, Dec. 24, there have been 202,651 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 4,556 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 154,669 recoveries.
