JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 1,457 new COVID-19 cases and 3 new deaths Monday, Jan. 18.

New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Sunday. Three deaths occurred between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17 in the counties below.

Wayne 1

As of Monday, Jan. 18, there have been 253,932 total cases of the virus since mid-March 2020, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 5,524 total deaths.

The state health department estimates there have been 207,769 recoveries.
