JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi High School Activities Association decided Wednesday to cancel all spring sports at the state's public high schools.
The decision was not a surprise since Governor Tate Reeves on Tuesday announced public school campuses would stay closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
Students went on spring break in March and never returned because of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the MHSAA, offseason and summer sports activities will not start again until June 1 or until further notice.
