JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - State troopers investigated 38 injuries and four deaths on Mississippi highways during the Christmas holiday enforcement period.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) began its enforcement period on Wednesday, Dec. 23 and it concluded Sunday.

During this period, MHP used all available troopers to remove impaired drivers from highways.
During this year’s Christmas period, MHP issued 5,898 citations and made 130 DUI arrests.
Troopers investigated 201 crashes, which included 38 injuries and four deaths.
The four fatalities occurred in Newton, Hancock (two deaths) and Clarke counties.
During the 2019 Christmas enforcement period, MHP investigated three fatalities.
