Former Southaven alderman sentenced for transportation of child porn

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - A former alderman for the City of Southaven has been sentenced to prison for the transportation of child porn.

Ronald W. Hale was sentenced Wednesday to 85 months in prison.

He pleaded guilty on April 2 to knowingly using a means of interstate or foreign commerce to transport or ship a visual depiction involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Hale was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release following prison, as well as pay $3,500 in restitution to a victim of the crime.
