2 killed in Mississippi during Thursday's severe weather

Storms ravaged most of the state and left two people dead.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Two people were killed in Mississippi during Thursday’s severe weather.

One death happened in Neshoba County.

According to WTOK-TV in Meridian, a tree fell onto a car that was traveling on Highway 15 South near Linwood.

The victim was identified as Ronald Moreland, 81, of Newton.

The other death happened in Amite County, which is above Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

Amite County Coroner Campbell Sharp said Kenderick Magee, 25, was killed while he was driving in the severe weather, reports WLBT-TV in Jackson.

His vehicle crashed in the Gillsburg community, and he died from his injuries.

Alabama reported one death.

Monica Clements, 42, was killed when a tree fell her home in Pell City, reports WVTM in Birmingham.
