TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Tupelo Aquatic Center is hosting the state long course swimming championships this weekend.
The event, which features 274 swimmers and more than 80 events, began Thursday and runs through Sunday.
The participating teams include the host Tupelo Shockwave.
"We've prepared for this event for about the past four and a half, five months, and in the summer, we've been doing some two-a-days to get ready for it, so, it's been a lot of preparation for it," said Shockwave coach Lucas Smith.
"It's all about the training," said the Shockwave's Rani Greer, who's competing in seven events. "You just base your events on your training, and you just try your hardest, and that's all you can do."
