STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - The Starkville High School football team is currently in quarantine.
The Yellow Jackets had multiple cases of COVID-19 in the program, the Starkville Daily News reported.
The program is shut down for 14 days.
The Jackets did not have a game scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.
Next week’s game against Warren Central will now have to be forfeited.
Starkville School District spokesman Nicole Thomas later confirmed there are five confirmed positive cases within the varsity football program.
She said none of the cases are coaches.
The team will return to school on Nov. 2 and football practice will resume the same day.
