SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) - Saltillo High School's Annie Lusby has signed with Blue Mountain College's cross country program.

Lusby has been running for five years and has been a part of the Tigers' Class 5A state championship teams the last two years. She was named All-State in Class 5A in 2017.

"I started when I was in eighth grade, and my teammates just really pushed me to do better," Lusby said. "I know my seventh or eighth grade year, I ran two miles in 20 minutes, and now I'm running three miles in 20 minutes, so I definitely owe that to my teammates, because they pushed me really hard."

"Annie's been a great part of our program for the last several years, has been part of our region and state team the last two years, been a joy to coach, hate to lose her, but Blue Mountain's gonna be better for having her there," Saltillo cross country head coach Charles Covington said.
