Saltillo football team under quarantine until early September

The Lee County School District says the football team at Saltillo High School is under quarantine.

SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Saltillo High School football team is to remain in quarantine until Sept. 4.

The Lee County School District issued the following statement Friday, Aug. 21.

"Following guidelines from the Mississippi State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control, the Saltillo High School football team has been quarantined until September 4. This means the scrimmage game against Kossuth scheduled for August 28 and the season opener against Itawamba AHS on September 4 have both been canceled.

The Lee County School District continues to follow Mississippi State Department of Health protocols for all students and staff who may test positive for COVID-19."
