INDIANAPOLIS (AP/WTVA) — NCAA President Mark Emmert says NCAA Division I basketball tournament games will be played without fans in the arenas because of concerns about the spread of coronavirus.
Emmert said in a statement Wednesday he made the decision to conduct both the men's and women's tournaments, which begin next week, with only essential staff and limited family in attendance.
NCAA President Mark Emmert issued this statement Wednesday afternoon.
The Mississippi State women's basketball team could host the first few rounds of the NCAA Tournament next week at Humphrey Coliseum on the MSU campus.
With the NCAA's ruling, fans will not be allowed to attend if MSU secures home-court in the tournament.
