BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WTVA/Ole Miss Athletics) – During the 2019-20 campaign, Ole Miss Basketball will once again play in a prestigious holiday tournament. The Rebels will join Oklahoma State, Penn State and Syracuse in Brooklyn, New York for the 2019 NIT Season Tip-Off.

The NIT Season Tip-Off will return to Barclays Center for a fifth straight season during Thanksgiving Week, and Ole Miss will play a pair of games in the home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets.

"Obviously, with the prestige of the NIT Season Tip-Off, it's an honor to play in this elite field in New York over the Thanksgiving holiday," said head coach Kermit Davis. "It's one of the best preseason tournaments in college basketball, and I know our players will look forward to it."

Ole Miss is no stranger to Brooklyn, having captured the Barclays Center Classic with wins over Georgia Tech and Penn State during the 2013-14 season. The Rebels earned a double digit victory (77-67) over the Yellow Jackets before defeating the Nittany Lions 79-76 in the championship game.

The Rebels are a combined 4-2 against the other three teams in the NIT Season Tip-Off. Ole Miss lost both matchups to Oklahoma State, once in 1948 and the other in 1953 when the Cowboys were known as Oklahoma A&M. Along with beating Penn State in the 2013 Barclays Center Classic championship game, the Rebels also swept a home-and-home series in consecutive seasons (2010-11, 2011-12) to hold a 3-0 all-time advantage. In their lone meeting, the second round of the 2017 Postseason NIT, Ole Miss knocked off Syracuse 85-80 in the Carrier Dome.

The NIT Season Tip-Off has been played in New York City every November since 1985. The outstanding 2018 field featured four 2019 NCAA Tournament teams in Tennessee (No. 2 Seed, South), NIT Season Tip-Off Champion Kansas (No. 4 Seed, Midwest), Marquette (No. 5 Seed, West) and Louisville (No. 7 Seed, East). Both Ole Miss and Syracuse are No. 8 seeds in this year's NCAA Tournament.

The NIT Season Tip-Off will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. The complete field and schedule will be announced at a later date. Ticket information also will be announced at a later date.
