Numerous area basketball signings on Friday

Four area high schools saw at least one player sign with a college program.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Four area high schools had at least one basketball player sign with a college program Friday.

Okolona High School's Ladarrius Spears and Jaylon Bailey signed with Northeast, while Cameron Smith signed with Pearl River. All three averaged double figures for the Class 1A state champions.

Alana Edwards of Hatley signed with Blue Mountain College. The 5'7" guard averaged nearly eight points per game.

Timoya Brownlee and Ma'Darius Hobson signed with Itawamba. Brownlee averaged 17.5 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Wildcats, while Hobson averaged more than 22 points and nine boards for the Wildcats.

Amory's T.J. Wallace signed with Mississippi Delta. He averaged 16.5 points and was named his division's player of the year.
