STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA/MSU Athletics) - An 8-0 start to the season has kept the Mississippi State women’s basketball team at No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll for a second-straight week.

The Bulldogs rolled to an impressive 94-37 win against Louisiana in Jackson on Wednesday before capping the week with a 79-76 victory against Oklahoma State on Sunday in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

The perfect start to the year notched State its 60th-straight week in the poll, the seventh-longest active streak in the country. The Bulldogs’ 24-consecutive weeks in the Top 10 rates fifth nationally.

Oklahoma State was the third team Vic Schaefer’s squad has defeated this season that is either ranked or receiving votes. The Cowgirls are receiving votes in this week’s poll. Victoria Vivians scored 30 points in Sunday’s win against OSU after notching 16 against the Ragin Cajuns.
