OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi State men's basketball team defeated Ole Miss Saturday 66-56, ending the Rebels' four-game winning streak.
Ole Miss (12-9) entered the contest with recent upsets of two Top 25 teams, Tennessee and Missouri, and appeared to be gaining momentum toward a long-shot bid for the NCAA tournament.
Prior to those upsets, the Rebels lost seven of ten games in a roughly one-month stretch.
Mississippi State's Iverson Molinar led all scorers with 17 points, which is significant since it wasn't clear he would even play because of an injury.
The Bulldogs (12-11) also got double-digit scoring from D.J. Stewart with 16 points and Tolu Smith with 12 points.
