JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame grew by six Saturday night in Jackson.
The late Billy Brewer, Anna Jackson, Mike Jones, Lafayette Stribling, Joe Walker, Jr., and the late Archie Moore were inducted into the hall of fame Saturday night at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson.
Anna Jackson was the longtime girls basketball coach at Murrah High School in Jackson.
Mike Jones was a longtime men's basketball coach and athletic director at Mississippi College.
The well-dressed Lafayette Stribling was a longtime men's basketball coach at Mississippi Valley State University.
Joe Walker, Jr. was a longtime track and field coach at Ole Miss.
"I really never thought I'd be in this," said Walker. "I'm honored and humbled, and also I guess proud, because you have to of done something to get in here."
Former Ole Miss football coach Billy Brewer and boxer Archie Moore were inducted posthumously.
