Ingomar defeats New Site for 2A girls basketball crown

The Lady Falcons have won three consecutive state titles.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Ingomar defeated New Site, 46-19, to win the Class 2A girls state basketball championship on Friday.

Ingomar swept the two regular season meetings between the division rivals, so New Site tried to slow the game down. Ingomar led just, 3-0, after one quarter and 13-2 at halftime.

Mallory Russell and Lindsay Hall led Ingomar with nine points each. Mackenzie led New Site with six points.

The Lady Falcons (37-1) clinched their third consecutive state title. The Lady Royals (24-11) were seeking their first state title since 2012.
